(Monrovia, Liberia, June 5, 2025)— In an effort to support the Liberia Medicines & Health Products Regulatory Authority (LMHRA) strive to fight substandard and falsified medicines and health products in the country, Global Fund through its principal recipient (PR) Plan-International, has donated two (2) Land Cruiser Pickups, 2024 model and 17 Yamaha motorbikes.
The donation, is said to be under the Global Fund’s GC-7 HIV/TB and COVID-19 Response Mechanism (C19RM), aimed at enhancing operational capacity which addresses critical logistical challenges in the health sector.
Presenting the vehicles, Madam Mariam Murray, Country Director of Plan International, said the donation will strengthen Liberia’s health system in a resilient and sustainable manner, for future health emergencies.
According to her, it will enhance national’s health capacity for sensible and key benchmarks under the Global Fund’s C19 Response Mechanism (C19RM) project.
Madam Murray added that their approach focuses on building public health capacity and capability in pursue of fostering ownership and long-term sustainability.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the LMHRA, Managing Director Luke L. Bawo, appreciate Global Fund and its Principal recipient, Plan Liberia International and its sub-recipient the Ministry of Health for their continue support, describing the aid as key to strengthen the workings of the LMHRA.
He maintained that motor vehicles contribute to the smooth and convenient operation of the LMHRA.
The donation was made on Tuesday June 3, 2025 at the Central office of the Ministry of Health in Congo Town.
