Alexander E. George is a trained chemist with more than thirteen (13) years of experience providing supervision in medicine quality control and quality assurance at the Quality Control Laboratory of LMHRA. Overall, there is a
twenty-eight (28)-year work experience in quality control, quality assurance and chemistry education.
Alexander E. George holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Organic Chemistry from the Beijing University of Chemical Technology (2010), People’s Republic of China. He is also a holder of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemistry from the University of Liberia. He briefly attended courses in Pharmacy for 3 semesters at the School of Pharmacy, University of Liberia.
Alexander E. George has got a wealth of experience and certificated trainings both locally and internationally (including the United States and the African region) in the area of medicine quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA), as well as quality management system (QMS).
Mr. George has served as Quality Control Manager of the Quality Control Laboratory from 2011 – 2018. He briefly served as Acting Head of Laboratory from 2018 – 2019. In 2019, following the appointment of a Lab Director, He served again as Quality Control Manager up to April 2024 when he got appointed as Director of the Quality Control Laboratory. Mr. Alexander E. George is currently a member of the Expert Working Group for Quality Control Laboratories in West Africa. This is a 3-year portfolio which spans from 2023 – 2026.
Mr. George is quality-focussed with a major goal of ensuring that the Quality Control Laboratory of LMHRA gets ISO 17025 accreditation and WHO pre- qualification subsequently.
